イギリスのロンドンを中心に活動する覆面芸術家。グラフィティアート、ストリートアートを世界各地にゲリラ的に描くという手法を取る。Banksy本人は自分のプロフィールを隠そうとしており、本名をはじめとして不明な点が多い。2005年、自作を世界各国の有名美術館の人気のない部屋にゲリラ展示し、しばらくの間誰にも気づかれないまま展示され続けたことが話題となりました。彼の作品の多くは街頭（壁面）などに描かれており、ただの落書きだと考える市当局による清掃などの際に消えてしまう例[1]が頻発している。この様に彼の作品は「落書き」だと思う者は多いが、2007年2月に行われたサザビーズ主催のオークションではバンクシーの作品計6点が落札予想価格を大幅に上回る総額37万2千ポンド（で約8500以上）で落札されています。

オフセットプリント(offset)：平板印刷の一種で油(インク)の撥水性を利用した科学的な印刷方法です。版から紙へ直接印刷するのではなく中間転写体を介す為、版や紙への摩擦が少なく印刷できるのが大きな特徴です。正確で鮮明な多色刷りの印刷が可能で、原版からの再現性が高い事から現代のカラー印刷では最も広く使われています。
